The name "Pemayangtse" translates to "Perfect Sublime Lotus," symbolizing its sacredness. The monastery is a three-storied structure showcasing remarkable architecture, intricate wood carvings, and vibrant murals that depict Buddhist deities, mandalas, and historical events. The main prayer hall, or Dukhang, is adorned with stunning paintings and houses ancient idols and scriptures. A key highlight is the exquisitely crafted seven-tiered wooden sculpture on the top floor, representing the heavenly abode of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), a masterpiece completed by the late Dungzin Rinpoche.
