Temple Description

The temple is situated in a natural cave amidst the Satpura hills. Inside, a stalagmite is revered as a naturally formed Shivalingam. The cave also houses rock formations resembling the matted hair (jata) of Lord Shiva, giving the temple its name. A small water stream flows within the cave, believed to be the origin of the Jambu Dwip river. The spiritual and serene atmosphere makes it a significant pilgrimage destination.
