Homemade ORS Recipe Calculator

Calculate the correct amount of water, sugar, and salt for making Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) at home.

Required Ingredients

💧 Water 200 ml
🍬 Sugar 1 level teaspoon
🧂 Salt 1 pinch

WHO Standard Formula (1 Liter)

  • Water: 1 Liter (1000 ml)
  • Sugar: 6 level teaspoons (40 grams)
  • Salt: ½ level teaspoon (3.5 grams)

For 1 glass (200 ml), divide the measurements by 5.

⚠️ Critical Safety Rules

  • Measure carefully. Too much salt can be dangerous.
  • Always use boiled and cooled or bottled drinking water.
  • Do not boil the mixture after adding sugar and salt.
  • Discard leftover ORS after 24 hours.
  • Seek medical help if dehydration becomes severe.
