Pomodoro Focus Timer User Guide

A simple guide to understand the Pomodoro method and use the timer effectively.

Focus • Break • Repeat

Work with focus, rest with purpose

The Pomodoro technique is a time-management method where you work for a fixed focus period, take a short break, and repeat the cycle. It helps you avoid distractions, reduce mental tiredness, and complete tasks step by step.

Default Focus 25 min
Short Break 5 min
Long Break 15 min
Best For Deep Work

What is Pomodoro?

Pomodoro is a focus technique based on working in small time blocks. One complete cycle usually includes focused work followed by a break. The most common pattern is 25 minutes of work and 5 minutes of rest.

The main idea is simple: focus on one task, avoid switching, and give your brain regular rest.

Why use it?

  • It makes big tasks feel smaller and easier to start.
  • It reduces procrastination by giving you a clear time limit.
  • It helps you stay away from distractions during focus time.
  • It prevents burnout by adding planned breaks.
  • It helps track how much real focus time you completed.

Purpose of this timer

This timer is designed to help students, workers, creators, and learners manage their work sessions. You can set focus minutes, select short or long breaks, choose automatic or manual mode, and track your focus progress.

The dashboard keeps controls separate so the front screen remains clean and easy to use.

When should you use it?

  • Studying for exams or learning new topics.
  • Writing blog posts, reports, or assignments.
  • Coding, designing, editing, or research work.
  • Cleaning, planning, reading, or personal productivity tasks.

  • After several focus sessions, take a longer break.
  • Use progress summary to understand your daily focus habit.

Simple example routine

Start with 25 minutes focus and 5 minutes break. After completing a few focus sessions, use a 15-minute long break. This routine is useful for study, writing, coding, and creative work because it balances concentration and rest.

Note: You can change the minutes based on your comfort. Beginners can start with 15 minutes focus and 5 minutes break. Experienced users can try 40 or 50 minutes focus with a longer break.
