Shri Mahavirji Jain Temple is a significant pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara. Located in the Hindaun Block of Karauli district, Rajasthan, this temple is renowned for its historical significance, spiritual importance, and grand architectural style.
Description & Speciality
The temple enshrines a coral-colored sandstone idol of Lord Mahavira in the Padmasana posture, which was discovered over 200 years ago under miraculous circumstances. The temple showcases exquisite marble and red sandstone architecture adorned with intricate carvings and golden paintings depicting scenes from the lives of Tirthankaras. A notable feature of the temple is the 52-foot high Manastambha (column of pride) at the entrance, with images of four Tirthankaras facing all directions.
